The following collection of images were all captured as a small part of a larger whole. A documentary project can last as long as several decades or as short a few minutes. However, the very essence of documentary is to study your subject.

To properly analyze your subject visually you must strive to make a connection. That connection is what allows you to begin to break down walls and open up picture taking opportunities.

The challenge of documentary lies in its responsibility. A documentary photographer is not simple snapping away, reaching for a single quality image. Rather, they are studying, analyzing their subject, waiting patientally for that split-second, when their subject lets down their guard and allows that all important connection to be made.
