My name is Mark. I am a professional photographer living and working in the sprawling seaside metropolis of Portland, Maine. A photojournalist at heart, I have found my place (for now at least) in world of editorial photography, please be sure to stop by my website www.markflemingphoto.com.
I am fascinated with light. I have spent the majority of my young life chasing the light in all of its various forms. Photography has found me traversing Maine's famed rocky coast, braving 15 below zero wind chills, lying in center field of a minor league ball park at 2 in the morning, risking electrocution, dismemberment, and occasionally even death, on top of a parking garage during a lighting storm, but most importantly, it has found me behind the lens and there is no place I would rather be.
My style of photography has progressed over the years, changing and developing much as I have. Growing from my first 35mm film point and shoot to my current arsenal of optics, bulbs, and batteries. This blog is yet another step in my constant development as a photographer.
The goal for any photography is to challenge oneself to create unique and intriguing images. Pictures that not only engage the viewer but make them an active participant. This site is where I share my daily photographic exploits. The good, the bad, and most certainly the ugly. I welcome your feedback, and hope you will be honest in your critiques of my work.
