All right, I had to do it. I was sitting there, staring at my archives yet again when I realized that this was getting ridiculous. I needed to get out and actually click the shutter.

So, ambition in hand, I grabbed my gear and headed out the door. I started this trek as I do many, with no rhyme or reason to where I was heading or what I was going to shoot.

With my 50mm and my trusty 5D I decided to head downtown to check out the newly installed Christmas decorations. Luckily for me, it turns out that the Country Music Television tour was in town. Ok, so that was a lie, it was ANYTHING but lucky. Nothing against you country music fans, but I couldn’t get away from the Civic Center fast enough.

As I was making my hasty retreat I came across this beautifully adorned window. I thought these stars were absolutely gorgeous. The warm glow they were casting from behind the gently frosted glass was even more appealing. So, taking advantage of my 50mm 1.8 I opened up and shot these guys, hand held, from my vantage point on the street.

I know … I know … admittedly it’s corny. But, come on people, its Christmas for goodness sake! What better time to be corny?! Like Will Ferrell said, “The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is to sing loud for everyone to hear!”
