Traditional vs HDR | 05:12AM Aug 05, 2007

Before you all decide that I have in fact lost my mind, at least give me a chance to explain.

What you see above is an experiment, an experiment born of sheer inspiration and dedication. Ok, so that’s a lie … I was bored. And since I’ve thrown both HDR as well as traditional rally images at you, I wanted to see if I could cook up something more original.

How’d I do it? Glad you asked. I took one image and processed it traditionally, and then again as an HDR. Now, take both images apply ample amounts of breading and slice them into equal parts. Then layer them together, making sure you keep the HDR image above the traditional layer, otherwise they will cook unevenly. Pre-heat the oven to 450 degrees and bake for 12-14 minutes. After allowing roughly 5-8 minutes to cool you will be able to serve a group of 10-120 guests. Add cayenne for an extra kick.

A brilliant stroke of artistic genius? No. However, I do think it’s pretty darn cool to see the dramatic transition from one to the other on the same image. Now, it’s your turn to toss in your two cents. Hell, toss in a nickel if you are feeling generous.
