Peek-A-Boo | 07:32AM Jan 01, 2008

What? You mean to tell me that when you go shooting you don’t pretend you’re a sniper? Oh … right, me either.

As you can see, I was able to finally get my lazy butt out into snow for some quality lens time. As a result I have a considerable amount of new material to post, which I am sure is a relief to those of you who have wondered where on Earth I have been for the past few weeks. Stay tuned over the next few days for some intriguing shots of snow, sun, and of course your friendly neighborhood photographer.

Processing on this guy was quite enjoyable. I started, as usual, by tossing this guy through Photomatix for HDR conversion followed by a heavy session of tone mapping. Then I imported both the tone mapped version as well as the original file into shop. Once I had placed the HDR layer on top of the original I began my lengthy masking regimen. To finish things up I did a bit of selective curves adjustments and of course a little cross processing.

Lastly, I wan't to thank all of you who have made 2007 a fantastic first year for LensEnvy. Your questions, comments, and criticisms have made me push harder to become better behind the lens with each click of the shutter. For that, I thank you. I certainly have grown as a photographer over the year, learning with each experiment. I thank you all for tagging along on my journey, and hope you will continue as we jump into 2008. As for you, may your new year be full of wonder and light. Keep clicking!
