There is nothing like being on a New England college campus in the fall. I swear walking through an open quad surrounded by brick, ivy, and the myriad colors nature paints her canopy is the epitome of college here in the North East.
I was lucky enough to witness this scene while strolling around Bates College, waiting for my girlfriend to arrive. A junior at the Lewiston Institution, she has been raving about the fall colors all week. I have remained skeptical. Mostly, because by the time either I get out of work or she gets out of class it is to dark to appreciate anything outside anyways. However, today, I arrived a little early to see what all the fuss was about.
Sure enough, she was right. The campus was a blaze with brilliant shades of orange, yellow, and of course the school color burgundy. Ordinarily a pretty campus, the added color brought this small ivy-league college to life.
I made my way slowly around the entire campus, stopping every so often to pop off a few frames. Though, I certainly drew a few awkward glances from people, I was happy to be in a place where I could blend in so easily.
Processing here is at a bare minimum. In fact all the work done to this image was done using Lightroom exclusively. I concentrated more today on composition and exposure, not to mention the fact that I edited this puppy entirely on my laptop. In any event, I came back with quite a few quality shots and definitely enjoyed my time amongst the annual fall spectrum.
