Parking Garage Under Construction – Portland . Maine | 06:40AM Feb 01, 2008

My fellow bloggers and loyal visitors, you have my sincerest apologies!

Though, my absence has not been in vain. I am proud to announce the release (at least the first version) of the new and improved markflemingphoto.com. Everyone, please take a look and be sure to let me know what you think.

This is my blog, however, so lets move on to today’s image. This shot has been several weeks in the making. The building in the background is a parking garage that is under construction in the bayside area of Portland.

I pass this particular concrete monolith every time I go to the grocery store. Each time I have noticed the unusual light being created from frosted plastic being lit from within. I have wondered how to capture this scene for some time, and to be honest, I am still wondering. Even after braving sub-zero wind chills and frenzied rush-hour drivers, I still feel as if I have missed something.

I may very well try this location again, perhaps next time on a warmer night.
