Lights Out | 04:09AM Aug 24, 2007

At three o’clock in the morning two twenty something friends stand totally alone inside a darkened minor league baseball stadium. The only question is, how did they get there.

To answer the question at hand we’re going to need to rewind a bit. As I stated yesterday, this shoot has been bouncing around in my head for quite a while now. I had planed out a few rough shots, even come up with a tentative photographic thesis to accompany the images. My only problem was the question of entry. How does one gain access to a city landmark at such odd ours of the morning?

It’s easy, just walk in. Yes, that’s right we simply pulled in, parked the car, and walked up the stairs and into the ballpark. Granted, the surely cleaning crew quickly spotted us, however, after a bit of a rough explanation about clearly photographic purpose they didn’t much seem to care. In fact, I believe their parting words were something to effect of, “The lights go off in about 10 minutes, take as much time as you need.”

And, with that we began our photographic examination of the nightlife of America’s number one pastime.
