Here's Lookin' At You | 08:16PM Jan 05, 2009

Greetings to all you newly invigorated 2009 blogging enthusiasts. As we enter the season for resolution and reinvention, I felt it worthwhile to talk a bit about the goals for Mark Fleming Photography for 2009.

As you’ve all witnessed first hand, 2008 was a growing year. I started the year by jumping head long into the scary world of portraiture. Going hand in hand, that step brought me into the realm of both studio and location lighting. These new steps have helped bring new techniques, new images, and most importantly new clients.

I have since jumping into the realm of portrait photography grown incredibly fond of the style and technique of some of the world’s best portrait shooters, from Chase Jarvis in the studio to Joe McNally on location with his forest of Speedlights. A self-admitted Strobist addict, I have gathered together my own small gathering of flash units and homemade modifiers. I can’t say enough how important it is to have mentors in this field. Shooters’ whose work not only inspires, but also challenges you to push your own work farther.

What does 2009 hold for Mark Fleming Photography? Well, the first step begins tomorrow morning at 8:00 A.M. when the first installment of my new email marketing campaign hits inboxes across the Northeast. Between emails, print mailing, phone calls, and old fashioned pavement pounding I will be spending the year securing new clients.

I will also be beginning several new BLOG ONLY self-assignments, the first of which I hope to have up by early next week. Stay tuned!
