Got Milk? | 04:16AM Oct 08, 2007

After stirring up a bit of inspiration I decided to take advantage of this beautiful fall day and grab the camera for a little sidewalk stroll. About ten minutes into my photographic hike, I happened upon these two rusted beauties. They sat alone, tucked up against the tree line, behind our local neighborhood elementary school.

I opted for my 14mm here in order to fill the frame with both trucks while still being able to get in close and catch the fantastic detail in the rust. Processing for these rust covered dairy deliverers was actually quite simple. I brought them off the camera, dropped the saturation, boosted the contrast, and threw on a cross processing filter. Though it may not be exciting post here, I think it works real well with the mood in both of these shots.

It’s amazing what just a few hours strolling around town with your camera can yield. I would recommend it for anyone who is suffering from a bit of photographer’s block. The fresh air, open sidewalk, and myriad compositional opportunities are more than enough to fill your view finder.
