Back by popular demand, another departure from the devilish world of dynamic range.
Don’t go praising the film gods just yet though. This image is far from the virginity of a properly exposed slide. Instead, I traded my usual tone mapping treatment, for the more tedious manual method. I began by taking two exposures and combining them manually in Photoshop.
After the initial combination and corresponding hours worth of masking, I then delved into the world of adjustment layers. All told this little guy ate up over 35 layers. So, as I said earlier, what you see before you is anything but traditional!
Although I will admit that I am very pleased with the results here, results, which would have been impossible to achieve through my usual HDR workflow.
