Tonight, we pick up where we left off. Deep in the mysterious depths of my photography archive. Still having yet to find the time to get out and stretch my shutter finger, I decided to take a secondary approach to my problem.
I opened up my drive and started at the beginning. Moving forward from there, I went through my shots, folder by folder. I selected shots that I had previously discarded. I felt that by choosing ‘rejected’ shots it would provide me with more of a challenge when it came to post production.
During my dig, I came across a forgotten folder, which contained shots I had taken about two years ago in an abandoned shipyard in Stonington. Inside this massive structure kids had tagged almost every inch of exposed brick, covering them with various expletive filled sayings. Among the urban scripture also lied an assortment of burned up cars.
What you see before you is one of these wrecks. I ran this guy through an extensive session of tone mapping, using Photomatix. Then, after perfecting it in Photoshop, I added a curves layer for cross processing. I would be more than happy to answer questions about processing here. All you have to do is ask.
Oh, and if you wish – I have uploaded the original shot, straight from camera, HERE.
