Today we take our tour of Beantown U.S.A. underground. If there is one place that both fascinates and scares me in Boston, it is the ever-famous ‘T’. After pushing your way onto an over crowded car, being constantly bumped and pushed by your fellow passengers, and almost constantly shifting your weight as to not topple into the person next to you, one certainly begins to enjoy the wonders of public transportation.
For the first time in a long time I am pleased to say that I have truly enjoyed editing this Boston shoot. Photoshop World opened up a whole new world of editing for me. First of all, if you do not already own Lightroom … go buy it! That one program has streamlined my workflow to a point I never thought possible. Secondly, thanks to the great instructors at the conference I picked up countless tips and tricks that have made processing infinitely easier. Today’s image underwent much the same treatment as the previous two. However, this time I tried yet another toning technique (using curves) in an attempt to achieve a bit of a different look. My goal with these images was to portray an almost retro film feel, something similar to Ektachrome for instance.
In the end I am very pleased with my Boston series. My goal was to improve my street photography, and though I have a long way to go, I was able to step outside my comfort zone, and now definitely feel at ease in the street environment.
To keep things fresh, I have decided to take a break from Boston shots and will be posting some new Maine images tomorrow. Though, I do have a few more Boston images up my sleeve, so be sure to stay tuned. At Matt’s request I have posted a couple of different angles on yesterday’s shot on flickr …click HERE & HERE … please let me know what you think.
